Eemeli is a forgotten--a species who even among the supernatural are considered nothing more than a myth. Their highly secretive nature plays a major role within this. Yet, if one looks hard enough, they might find scattered bits of information floating about. The most surprising piece of information one might stumble upon is the fact the forgotten have been behind every major event within the world---pulling the strings in a manner of speaking. Stories say that they have been around since the beginning, and a few suggest they might have existed long before in the empty void that all creation sprung from. Whatever the truth, there are some who suggest that they might even be responsible for creation itself, but of course the forgottens aren't likely to enlighten anyone on the subject.
Due to their secretive nature, Eemeli like the majority of his people was born a pure blood. He had what many might consider the ideal childhood. It was without a doubt far from perfect, but he had parents who loved him with every fiber of their being. They provided him with everything he needed as well as taught him all he needed to know about his people. They knew since an early age that he was going to become one of the greatest among their people, and they did everything within their powers to help him reach his full potential. Everyone didn't share their opinion. Some believed it was wishful thinking on his parents' part, but when he became one of the four winds it became clear that his parents' assessment had been correct.
The four winds are the highest position within forgotten society and those who hold the title are said to be the most powerful of the people. Through, they never challenge each other to determine whether this is true or not. When they come of age, they stand before The Oracle who then declares their standing among the people. No one really questions The Oracle's decisions, and the few who do are quickly reminded they are the ones who are mistaken. Once Eemeli was declared one of the four winds, he begun to learn everything that came with that position. and as soon as his training was completed, he went out into the world to explore. He travelled the world for countless years, going wherever the wind might take him and enjoying everything that was flung at him, but then one day he discovered that his father had an affair with a non-forgotten woman, and he had a sister as a result of their relationship.
Present
He was overcome with the urge to find and protect her, after all that's the big brother's duty. He didn't think twice giving into his desire, but he arrived too late. His sister wasn't dead or anything like that, but the events of her life had clearly done its damage upon her. She had not had a happy childhood like he did. As a result of the horrors she had witness, she had decided that she would only fall in love with true hero, but she has yet to find one and she have concluded this means that none exist. Nevertheless, Eemeli has become a part of her life and embraced his role of elder brother completely. It didn't take long before another emotion to grab him. Eemeli had fallen in love with his sister, and wanted nothing more than to marry her.
Among his people this wasn't considered taboo, but he knew that it would never come to pass. His sister will never share his feelings because he will never be the hero she desires. Yet, despite how much it breaks his heart to know they will never be together in the manner he wishes Eemeli looks after her the way that a big brother should, and he wants nothing more than for her to find true happiness--even if it means she ends up within the arms of someone else.
